Sustainability
Focused On Continuous Improvement
Kanzaki Specialty Papers shares important responsibilities concerning the environment and protection of natural resources – including air, land and water. We are focused on responsible sourcing and efficient operations, as well as working closely with our customers to understand their specific needs and identify opportunities to help reach major sustainability milestones.
Reducing CO2 Emissions
We are committed, not only to reducing our overall carbon footprint wherever possible. We are actively working to improve our ability to accurately monitor and report upon our scope 1, 2, and 3 CO2 emissions. We acknowledge the importance of accurate data for ourselves and for our customers in order to track real progress as it is being made up and down the supply chain.
Responsible Sourcing
We continue to offer our customers a wide range of products that utilize sustainably sourced materials with certified accreditation. Be sure to ask for more information about how you can utilize these responsibly sourced materials in your products to improve the sustainability of your end use application.
Human and Environmental Health
We are proud to say that all of our products contain zero added BPA, most of our products contain zero added BPS, and many of our products are designed without any added Phenols whatsoever. We continue to push the boundaries of innovative and creative chemical engineering aimed at creating the safest most sustainable products possible.
Water Usage & Treatment
Our facility has an on-site water treatment system that ensures the water we put back into the public supply is even cleaner than when it entered our plant. We work with local governments and communities to ensure our manufacturing practices adhere to all regulations and lean towards best practices for water and environmental conservation. We are also actively seeking ways to reduce our upstream water consumption by working with vendors who can show proof of reduced water usage in their paper production process.
Recycling Towards A Circular Economy
Kanzaki is working closely with our customers and suppliers to identify opportunities where a circular economic model could be implemented to improve the overall efficiency of our material usage and waste production. This would mean finding effective ways to collect waste along the supply chain, recycle and recirculate it back into the raw materials being used to create the end product. This greatly helps to reduce waste and transform potential cost into added value within the supply chain.
